Great news. We have spent 4 days doing a thorough reccy for the Tour of Portugal – a fun and social event aimed at “Big Adventure Bike” and riders.
On the reccy we regularly spent 14 hours or more in the saddle checking the suitability of routes from single track around the big dams to the gravel service roads high in the mountains.
What we found was exception, perfect riding for the “Big Bikes” – the results have no show stoppers and are all gravel based tracks.
The event is a navigation event and the riders have to find their own way and they select the level of difficulty they wish to ride – there is more than enough for everyone and all abilities.
We have found loads of cafes and rest stops that are also shown on the maps along with the fuel stations.
The guys are so excited about this event and we have had a brilliant time meeting the local people, the Major of Pamphilhosa and the crew at the hotel.
We can’t wait to go back – see more info on the tour and have a look at the taster video.
